Calling all Girls 10-13 years-old to help grow the Moon and Thunder Online Magazine!

Here's the way it will work. 

 

  • The online journal will come out 3 times a year. Planning for the first one in February 2018! The Moon and Thunder Tribe will decide upon the issue theme, and also what they would like to include. 

  • All content and discussion will be guided. 

  • We will also accept online submissions that will relate to the issue's theme. 

  • We will post the theme for online submissions following our first meeting.  

 

We had our first meeting on 11-1-2017! We are on our way to creating an online magazine! We need you! This magazine is for girls, by girls! Join us next week!

All submissions should be emailed to moonandthundermag@gmail.com. Please write SUBMISSION - Moon and Thunder in the subject line. Content must be approved and will be used if it meets the theme requirements. We aim to take as many submissions as possible, while keeping with Moon and Thunder aesthetics.

 

The Moon and Thunder Online Magazine will be produced by girls, for girls. Topics will be decided upon by the tribe, and highlights will relate to wellness, self-care, and the arts. Journalism, writing, editing, poetry, art, photography, and other content will be included in every issue. Art will be photographed and included.

Girls are invited to get creative! Moon and Thunder Online Magazine will appear online 4 times a year. Future fundraising will take place to include a printed version for local distribution.
 
Written, produced, illustrated and edited by girls, the seasonal journal will appeal to girls in the ages of 10-13 years-old. Poetry, non-fiction and fiction short stories, artwork, photography, interviews and articles will be accepted for the online publication.

The first Moon and Thunder Online Magazine will be published early December 2017. March, June and September, 2018 will follow.

Weekly gatherings (check website for location details) to work on content, art and writing will take place as an after school project. Submissions will also be accepted online. 
​
The Moon and Thunder Online Magazine will be an expression of creative ideas and stories that depict the lives of girls today. The producing, marketing, time and effort of organizing and producing the journal is full of learning opportunities. It offers girls the ability to gain skills in writing and editing, and a chance to share their creative spirit with others.
​
Parents are welcome to volunteer time or resources to the Moon and Thunder Online Magazine.
